After more than four years offering "roving" culinary events around Sonoma County, Relish opened an event center and teaching kitchen in downtown Healdsburg in March 2009—the Relish Culinary Center. Relish continues to offer roving classes, especially in the summer when there are so many wonderful outdoor venues—these roving events will always be an important part of Relish. The Center allows Relish to offer a wider variety of classes, classes that are not feasible "on the road", and events that complement the roving culinary adventures.
The Relish Culinary Center echoes the comfortable yet sophisticated style of the award-winning Hotel Healdsburg whose entrance is across the street.

The Relish Culinary Center state-of-the-art teaching kitchen
The Center has the feel of a modern farmhouse kitchen―unstained cement floors and corrugated brushed aluminum siding balanced with warm wood and neutral colors. The space is designed to accommodate both demonstration and hands-on cooking events with state-of-the-art DCS home appliances, modern stainless sinks and fixtures, stone countertops and classically beautiful white oak cabinetry. We want to create a "wow" factor as you enter and, especially, cook in this gorgeous kitchen.

As an extension of our support for sustainable farming and local artisan producers, the Relish Culinary Center features a variety of green products and finishes such as locally-built kitchen cabinets featuring FSC-certified hardwood, no-added-formaldehyde plywood and low VOC finishes; locally manufactured tile in the kitchens and bathroom; bamboo multi-purpose tables; no VOC paint; low VOC, non-toxic floor sealant; and recycled teak display cabinets.
The Relish Culinary Center also has a great outdoor kitchen for grilling, wood-fired cooking and al fresco dining. This wonderful outdoor area includes a Mugnaini Wood-Fired Oven (Prima 120 model), built-in DCS gas grill with storage cabinets and Gloster teak furniture. We used excess materials from the main building for a uniform industrial look that's quite different from the rustic oven designs commonly seen around the wine country. We host many outdoor events between May and October so guests (you!) can enjoy the temperate weather of the area.

The center also includes an administrative office, unisex bathroom, and small commercial kitchen to meet heath department requirements for food storage, prep and clean-up.
The center seats up to 36 people classroom style for a demonstration event. Capacity for a hands-on event varies based on our ability to use the outdoor area—up 36 people for an indoor/outdoor event and 20 people for an indoor-only event.
We look forward to hosting a wide variety of public and private events at the new center, including private parties and winemaker dinners, team-building workshops and much more.
